Clean Power PA Coalition Denounces Passage of State Billion Dollar Giveaway for Petrochemical Companies

HARRISBURG-- (February 6, 2020) –The Clean Power PA Coalition today decried the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s recent passage of HB 1100, legislation that creates a tax credit for petrochemical manufacturers using Pennsylvania natural gas, calling the bill a wasteful, harmful and unnecessary subsidy that will reward polluting businesses, ignore cleaner alternatives, and divert money away from our schools and our communities. The Coalition praised Governor Wolf for reiterating on Wednesday his commitment to veto the bill when it reaches his desk.

Clean Power PA Coalition Applauds Governor Wolf’s Commitment to Climate Action, Urges Concrete Steps on Policies to Increase Renewables and Cap Carbon Emissions

Governor Tom Wolf announced today that he will be joining the United States Climate Alliance, making Pennsylvania the 24th state in a coalition committed to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Accord. The announcement coincided with the release of the updated Pennsylvania Climate Action Plan, the Commonwealth’s plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
